September 11th--- Never Forget

September 11th--- Never Forget

Post by Mojo on Wed Sep 11, 2013 6:38 pm

12 Years ago today we all watched in horror as the Trade Center buildings were destroyed by terrorists.  We all saw the stories of heroes and ordinary people working together to search the rubble for victims and survivors.  We heard the stories of our valiant firemen, many of whom were killed or injured.  We saw sisters and brothers, parents, kids, and friends trying to cope with loss and fearful of the future.  For the 1st time we saw true terrorism on our shores.  We cried, we swore, and we unified  in a way we haven't since.  For that period of time, WE ALL BECAME NEW YORKERS.

On this date, please take a minute to reflect on the events of September 11 and remember everything we lost as well as everything we gained from it.  Don't let bitterness or hatred taint the memories of that day nor let it prejudice yourself to people of the Muslim faith who lost as much on that sad day.

We may not all be New Yorkers but WE ARE ALL BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

Peace

BTW A very dear friend of mine  has a permanent shrine to the events of 9/11.  You should really check it out as it is a fantastic page.  Go  [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I'm going to keep this section open for all to share their September 11th stories.  Please try to keep everything on a friendly basis and not degrade into pettiness or hate.
