Microsoft Warns Windows XP Users To Expect More Virus Attacks After April 2014
An interesting story about what Windows XP users may face after April 8, 2014 when Microsoft support officially ends for XP. You can read the story [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Now before everybody goes around screaming that the end is near, remember that there will be private support for XP for quite awhile. Also Microsoft will still release updates to their corporate clients that pay for support and I would imagine that those updates will be available in the wild too.
Some people will criticize Microsoft that this is nothing but scare tactics to force people to update their operating system but, to me, this is Microsoft finally owning up that XP, for all it's good things, is a highly vulnerable O.S. which is something they've denied even as they rushed Vista onto the market. To me, this is a good sign that Microsoft is taking some responsibility finally.
Don't get me wrong, I love the XP Operating System and I still run it on a virtual machine to test certain things that I can't on Windows 7 and to test in an environment where I don't have to worry about botching my main OS. But I also realized that in order to stay a step ahead of the malware cretin that it was time to update the main OS

The Medical Establishment runs WinXP and see no reason to update their systems; the only thing that has updated has been . . all Medical Records are now Online !
However, they didn't transfer the Allergy info about whatever meds one might have. .you have to provide that again. Whoa is you if you don't remember half of them!!

I used to love XP until I got my W7 pc and I can definitely say that I would never go back to XP that is if it was still going to be supported.

I have to agree with that 100%. About the only time I use XP anymore is when I'm checking software compatibility on my Virtual Machine.nquale wrote:I used to love XP until I got my W7 pc and I can definitely say that I would never go back to XP that is if it was still going to be supported.
